Section 3:B: Horizon Member. A Horizon Member is defined as a business broker who specializes in business brokerage, has high ethical standards, agrees to post his/her sole and exclusive or exclusive agency listings (except where prohibited by the Seller) to the AZBBA Website, agrees to be an active participant in the affairs of the AZBBA BUT has less than one year of experience in business brokerage.
Qualifications
- A Horizon Member must:
- Be sponsored by an Individual Member and be associated with a business brokerage firm.
- Submit an application for Membership together with a copy of their Real Estate
- Attend at least one business brokerage training class per quarter. Every quarter a report must be submitted to the Board showing the training undertaken and all sales and listings in the quarter. If the Board determines that appropriate training has not been undertaken or that the Horizon Member is not otherwise in good standing then, at the sole discretion of the Board, the Horizon Member’s Membership may be
- A Horizon Member will be permitted to:
- Attend all AZBBA meetings, breakfasts, social events and free education
- Post their listings on the AZBBA
- Receive a set of new business-for-sale profiles (if available) at each AZBBA
- A Horizon Member may not:
- Represent themselves as Individual Members of AZBBA nor make any use of the AZBBA logos or other AZBBA related materials
- Vote at any

A Horizon Member may apply for Individual Broker Membership (with no application fee being due) as soon as they are able to satisfy the requirements shown in SECTION 3:A. If the Horizon Member is unable to satisfy the requirements for Individual Membership within two years of joining the Horizon Member program, then the Horizon Member’s Membership will be terminated. Prior to such termination, a Horizon Member may apply for a six-month extension of Membership. If the Individual Membership requirements are still not satisfied after that six-month period, then the Horizon Member’s Membership will be terminated.
The applicant will be notified of his/her acceptance or denial. In the event of a denial, the prepaid dues and initiation fees will be returned to applicant.
