Mr. Shapiro is the President and CEO of The Wheatley Group a “Merger and Acquisition” firm located in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a full time “M & A” professional he represents privately held, mid – market companies throughout North America with a major emphasis in the Southwest and Western USA. He occasionally represents sellers in smaller transactions, only in Arizona, and sometimes represents buyers in retained strategic acquisition searches. He plays a proactive, hands-on role in the entire process of valuing, packaging, positioning, marketing, qualifying buyers, negotiating and closing transactions. He has sold companies in virtually every sector of the marketplace. Buyers have included Public Companies (NYSE & NASDAQ), Privately Held Companies, Private Equity Groups, High Net-Worth Individuals and Mom and Pop acquirers. He is an inactive member of the Arizona and New York Bar Associations, a licensed Real Estate Broker in Arizona, a member of the largest association of “M & A” professionals in the world – the “Merger and Acquisition Source”, a member of the International Business Brokers Association, a Certified Business Intermediary, a Member of the “Valley Board of Business Brokers” and the exclusive Arizona representative of “Nation – List International”. He has frequently been quoted and authored numerous articles in Arizona newspapers and magazines regarding mergers and acquisitions. He has been recognized by the Valley Board of Business Brokers, an organization comprising approximately 80 professional business brokers and merger and acquisition advisors, as the #1 Business Broker in the Metro Phoenix area for generating the highest Dollar Volume of Sales in Arizona during the calendar years 1997, 1998, and 2000. Finally, he has conducted many seminars and symposiums to Attorneys, CPA’s, Business Brokers, Owners and Buyers of privately held companies, and enjoys playing an integral advisory role in accomplishing the objectives of his selling, merging and buying clients in the “M & A” marketplace.
