At AZ Business Brokers Association, Inc. (“AZBBA”), the privacy and security of our customers and visitors (“you” or “your”) are paramount. AZBBA is committed to protecting the data you share with us that can be used to directly or indirectly identify you (“Personal Data” or “Data”) when you visit our website (“Site”). The type of Personal Data we collect, how we use that Personal Data and who we share it with is explained in detail in this Privacy Policy (“Policy”).

CONSENT

By using our Site, you consent to the collection and use of your Personal Data as described in this Policy. If we need, or are required, to contact you concerning any event that involves this Policy or your Data we may do so using the email address, telephone number, or physical mail address we have on file for you.

DATA WE COLLECT

The Data we collect about you through the Site may include both “Non-Personal Data” and “Personal Data.”

Non-Personal Data” means Data that may not by itself be reasonably associated with, linked to, or used to identify you. For example, general, non user-specific Data regarding your use of the Site.

SOURCES OF DATA

From You. We may collect Data about you through the Site. These include from you directly when, for example, you visit and use the site or otherwise communicate with us.

From the Site. We may collect Data about you automatically when you interact with the Site. For example, AZBBA and our third-party service providers may use “cookies” to monitor and collect Data regarding how you access, use, and interact with the Site. “Cookies” are commonly used small files that are stored on your computer or mobile device to help identify you as a unique user of the Site.

Most browsers will allow you to erase cookies from your computer, block acceptance of cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored.

The computers we use to provide the Site may also automatically record Data about you. For example, our web servers may record the Data you enter when using the Site (including registration Data), the areas of the Site you visit, the services you use through the Site, your IP address, or cookies that are set on your browser. We may use any Data we collect from you automatically through the Site in accordance with this Policy.

Please note that our third-party providers may also use cookies, web beacons, or other online tracking technologies in messages displayed on or communicated through the Site.

HOW WE USE DATA

Non-Personal Data. We may use and share the Non-Personal Data to develop new services and other offerings.

Personal Data. We may use the Personal Data we collect about you for a variety of purposes, for example:

  • Operating the Site and providing services to you through the Site;
  • Customizing and improving the Site;
  • Providing notices and announcements to you relating to AZBBA;
  • Contacting you for direct marketing purposes;
  • Processing payments made through the Site.

YOU SHOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL DATA TO US UNLESS YOU AGREE TO THE USE OF THAT DATA IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS POLICY.

HOW WE SHARE DATA

We may share Data about you in a variety of ways, for example:

Service Providers. We may share Data we collect about you with our third-party service providers that help us provide the Site and facilitate communications. For example, we share Personal Data with MailChimp.com, the third party that provides our member communications platform.

Law Enforcement and Processes. We may share Data with law enforcement agencies if we reasonably believe unlawful activities have occurred or the Data may aid in an investigation into unlawful activity. We may also share Data with law enforcement if we determine, in our sole judgment, that you have violated our agreements or policies or that the release of your Data may protect the rights, property, interests, or safety of AZBBA or any third party.

YOUR RIGHTS

Right to Access and Data Portability

You have a right to confirmation from AZBBA as to whether or not your Personal Data is being processed, where and for what purpose.

Opt-Out/Right to Be Forgotten

If you no longer wish to receive certain messages from us or to have your Personal Data shared in the manner permitted by this Policy, you can opt-out of receiving those messages. In some cases, opting out of receiving messages may affect your ability to use the Site. In these circumstances, we may be required to limit or cancel your access to the Site. Please note that it may take up to 10 business days to remove contact Data from our systems so messages may continue temporarily after a removal request is made. You also have the right to request that your Data be forgotten from our systems.

SECURITY

We are committed to protecting and securing your Personal Data. Despite our commitment, no security system can be 100% effective and we cannot guarantee that your Data will be secure in all situations. We will nonetheless take all reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure the safety and security of your Personal Data.

ADDITIONAL TERMS

Children. The Site is not directed to children under 13 years of age. AZBBA does not knowingly solicit or collect personal Data from children under 13 years of age.

Do Not Track. Certain web browsers and other devices you may use to access the Site may permit you to indicate your preference that you do not wish to be “tracked” online. At this time, we do not modify your experience on the Site or the Data we collect from you through the Site based on whether such a preference is indicated.

Review and Update of Data. While AZBBA takes reasonable steps to ensure that the Personal Data we collect from you is reliable for its intended use, we rely on you to update and correct your Personal Data. Please contact us as described above to review, update, or change any of the Personal Data we have on file for you.

Notification of Changes. We may notify you of any changes to this Policy by way of an email or by posting on the Site. Your continued use of the Site or continued participation in our association after any change has become effective will constitute your acceptance of that change.

Membership Dues

AZBBA membership dues are non-refundable and non-transferable.
